Year 11 upper secondary maths covers seven broad areas: composite and inverse functions, the circle in equation form, polynomials, matrices, geometric transformations, limits, and derivatives.
Year 11 is where school mathematics changes character once more. Up to Year 10, almost every chapter calculates something fixed - a length, an angle, a total. In Year 11 calculus appears, which studies change itself: how fast something changes, and in which direction.
This is the most consequential year for students heading into engineering, economics, or the sciences. Derivatives and integrals are everyday working tools there.
