School Holiday Courses for Kids: How to Choose a Class (2026)

A school holiday course worth paying for has one trait: by the end of the break, the child has something they can show for it. A simple game, a poster they made, a cake they baked, or a new swimming stroke. A program that just fills the hours and looks after the child for three days usually leaves nothing behind but photos.
School holidays in Indonesia run two to three weeks. The 2025/2026 end-of-year academic calendar places the break in DKI Jakarta at 27 June to 11 July 2026, Central Java 22 June to 11 July 2026, and West Java 29 June to 10 July 2026, with the new school year starting 13 July 2026. The next first-semester break falls 21 to 31 December 2026. Exact dates are set by each province's Education Office.
That window is enough for one new skill the child works on seriously, or four half-finished activities.
How Much Do School Holiday Courses Cost in Indonesia
The figures below come from holiday programs running June to July 2026, so you have a benchmark before asking an organizer.
| Program | Format | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Hadiprana Art Centre holiday class | Single art class | Rp 145,000 - 450,000 per class |
| Kekoci holiday cooking class, Kemang | Cooking class | Rp 275,000 per class, Rp 750,000 for a 3-class package |
| Kumara Holiday Program, Summarecon Serpong | One-day class | Rp 320,000 per day |
| Kumara garden camp, Summarecon Serpong | 3-day camp | Rp 1,300,000 - 1,500,000 |
| Roller Skool holiday program | Sports program | Rp 1,150,000 - 1,450,000, plus Rp 150,000 gear rental/5 days |
| Ingatangajah Holiday Masterclass, Yogyakarta | Masterclass | Rp 2,400,000 (promo from Rp 3,500,000) |
Two things stand out from that table. First, the range is very wide, from a few hundred thousand to a few million rupiah for durations that aren't always that different. Second, the ticket price isn't the only cost. Offline day camps require pickup and drop-off twice a day for three to five straight days, and in Jakarta or Bandung that means two to three hours on the road daily for the parent driving.
As a benchmark, Algonova's online classes start from Rp 102,000 per session for small groups and Rp 190,000 per session for private classes, with no travel cost at all.
